Mary Poppins Jr. Auditions

About the Show
The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."

Audition Process
Auditions will include singing, dancing, and reading excerpts from a script. Parents are not permitted in the audition room, as actors must be capable of receiving direction independently. Auditions will be quick and actors may be asked to stay/return for a callback at 6:15. If actors are not asked to return for a callback, they have not been cast in our production. Final casting will be posted the next morning on our callboard before our first read-through that day.
Rehearsals
Performing in a show with Camden Ballet Theatre requires a sincere time commitment. Performers should be prepared to rehearse 3-4 times per week, including Friday afternoons and Saturdays. The first rehearsal is Saturday, January 4th from 10:00-1:00.

A detailed rehearsal schedule will be published once the cast has been finalized. Rehearsals will take place at our Camden Ballet Theatre studios until our performance week, when we will hold tech and dress rehearsals at the Camden Opera House.
Performer Expectations
Performing in a musical is a lot of fun! It's especially fun when everyone shows up on time, ready to go, every time they come to rehearsal. Bad attitudes, unkind behavior, or disrespect toward instructors or fellow cast members is not tolerated at any time and results in immediate dismissal from our production. It takes a lot of team work to make a show go, so everyone has to bring their best work. Please be punctual, prepared, and have a positive attitude!
*Actors who are unable to audition on January 3rd may request to do a virtual audition in advance of that date. For inquiries, contact admin@camdenballettheatre.com
