Caitlin Grossman
Instructor
Ballet, Pointe, Variations
Caitlin has had over 15 years of experience as a ballet teacher and educator. From a young age, Caitlin knew she wanted to be a ballet teacher. With a strong background in the Cecchetti technique, Caitlin studied ballet pedagogy under the tutelage of Susan Brooker, Hilda Morales, and Adam Miller at the Hartt School in Connecticut. She also experienced a wide array of training at summer intensives including American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey, and Alonzo King Lines Ballet. Caitlin is also a certified teacher with American Ballet Theatre.
Caitlin owned and operated a successful ballet school and youth company in Texas for 10 years before an injury changed her career path. Her former students went on to train on scholarship with American Ballet Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Orlando Ballet to name a few. She has also coached students in preparation for the Youth American Grand Prix (YAGP). YAGP is the country’s largest classical ballet scholarship competition, where Caitlin’s students went on to place in the top 12 and receive training opportunities and scholarships from ballet companies around the country. Caitlin's former students have gone on to perform in professional dance companies, study dance in college, and teach ballet.
After switching careers, Caitlin became a certified special education teacher and has worked in the public k-12 setting. In addition to teaching ballet, Caitlin currently works in the field of higher education where she helps individuals become licensed special educators. Caitlin lives in Camden with her husband and three-year-old son.
